A YEAR OF PROMISE
“Also today the Lord has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you ... and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken.”
Deut. 26:18a-19
Dear Friends,
Each year, we begin with a promise—with great hopes and anticipation for what the new year will bring. At Vision for Israel, our desire has always been to build and develop the dreams and visions that God has set before us. Our mission to be the hands and feet of Yeshua in the land of Israel is as crucial and relevant as ever.
Even with a possible end in sight, the pandemic that has upended life for all of us is at its most dangerous level yet. The new strain from Britain has proven to be up to six times as communicable as the old strain—although thankfully, there is evidence that the vaccines currently approved for use are still effective against it.
But let us remember: the struggle of the poor in Israel, the loneliness and hardship of Holocaust survivors, the mental and spiritual anguish of terror survivors, and the isolation of immigrants and lone soldiers—while heightened by the pandemic—were problematic long before Covid-19, and they will remain incredible challenges for years to come.
Like us, we know you are committed to showing the love of Yeshua to the people of Israel, no matter the circumstances. For that we are incredibly thankful, and we count ourselves blessed to be able to work with you.
This year, we want to take extra steps to help poor single parents and young couples break their cycle of debt. So we’re enrolling up to 120 households in a special program that consists of 10 one-on-one, in-depth meetings with a qualified financial consultant. When they complete the course, the couple will receive a financial gift of $1000 to start them off strong.
Will you help us make their dream a reality? The promise of a fresh start could be the difference between a life of stability—and that of struggle—for a young family in Israel.
Thank you again for your faithful support, and the blessing of your friendship as we head into another year together.
May the Lord bless and keep you.
In His Service,
Barry & Batya Segal
