“Shelter me, O God”

Saturday, September 16, 2023

“He who dwells in the shelter of Elyon, will abide in the shadow of Shaddai. I will say of Adonai, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. For He will rescue you from the hunter’s trap and from the deadly pestilence.”

Psalm 91:1-3 (TLV)

Dear Friend,

Shanah Tovah! As we celebrate the high holiday of Rosh Hashanah, our thoughts and prayers are with those living in uncertainty and fear, especially in the north and south of Israel.

The escalating situation along the northern border with Lebanon has brought anxiety and danger closer to home for many families. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recently urged the United Nations to strengthen their peacekeeping force, UNIFIL, to monitor the increasing potential for escalation due to Hezbollah's military build-up. Hezbollah's breach of Israeli territory by placing a military tent, and the establishment of dozens of other military compounds, have further heightened tensions.

Coupled with the continual rocket attacks from Gaza, which Iran is also involved in financing and arming, it's clear that now, more than ever, we must provide added defense to the residents of both the north and south of Israel.

In the last two years, we've been diligently working to place mobile shelters, mostly in the southern regions, to protect residents suffering from recurring rocket attacks. Now, with Hezbollah active along the border and Iran pressing its proxy group to attack Israel, we believe the time has come to expand our mobile shelters project into the northern communities as well.

So far, VFI placed 155 mobile shelters in southern and northern Israel. Over the next two months, we'll place approximately 50 additional shelters across Israel, both in the north and the south. Each shelter costs $12,000. These shelters are there for times of emergency and save lives.

With Rosh Hashanah upon us, a time for reflection and renewal, we invite you to join us in this vital project. By donating to our Mobile Bomb Shelter Project, you'll be directly participating in the preservation and protection of innocent lives.

We're all in this together. To donate to our Mobile Bomb Shelter Project, click HERE and please dedicate your donation to "Medical & Disaster Relief".

As we usher in the new year, let us stand united in our mission to aid the poor, hungry, and suffering people of Israel, and to bless the land in accordance with God's plan for restoration.

I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.

Psalm 3:4-6

Wishing you and your loved ones Shanah Tovah U'Metukah (A Good and Sweet Year),

In His Service,
Barry & Batya
