Honoring Fathers—and Supporting Orphans

Saturday, June 15, 2024

“Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

Exodus 20:12

Dear Friends,

As we approach Father's Day and celebrate the remarkable 30-year journey of Vision for Israel, we are reminded of the deep biblical roots that emphasize the sacred bond between parents and children. The Torah, filled with commandments about this vital relationship, instructs us on the significance of honoring and revering our parents as an expression of honoring God Himself. It promises longevity and prosperity to those who adhere to this divine wisdom.

Parenting, as envisioned by our scriptures, is not merely a series of duties but a holy covenant with God to raise children in His ways. This Father's Day, let us remember all fathers and father figures who guide us with strength and wisdom.

This month, as Vision for Israel marks its 30th anniversary, we reflect on our commitment to embody these scriptural principles through our actions. It's a commitment that has not only helped to nurture the physical and spiritual well-being of countless lives but also to restore hope where it was once lost.

In honor of this special day, we are thrilled to announce a new initiative aimed at healing the young hearts that ache the most — the orphans in the southern regions who lost their fathers on October 7th and the war that followed. These children require more than just physical necessities; they need the emotional support that can be provided by local activities.

Vision for Israel is organizing a special day dedicated to caring for these precious children. Professional advisors are meticulously planning the activities to ensure a meaningful experience. We have a budget of $15,000 to cover all expenses. Please join us in this noble cause by contributing to make this day truly special.

Your support will bring smiles and offer a sense of belonging to these children, helping them feel loved and cherished.

Let us come together this Father’s Day to bless our earthly fathers and those who have stood in the gap as father figures. Let us extend our hands in generosity and love toward the children who yearn for paternal care, reflecting the love of the Father who calls us all His children.

To contribute, please visit our donation page and dedicate your donation to Aid to the Poor. Your gift will make a profound difference.

“You shall be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy. A man shall revere his mother and his father and observe my Sabbaths; I am the Lord your God.”

Leviticus 19:2-3

Shalom and blessings,

Barry & Batya

Vision for Israel is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity. All contributions designated for specific projects shall be applied to those projects, and we may assess up to 20% to be used for administering the gift. Occasionally, we receive more contributions for a given project than can be wisely applied to that project. When that happens, we use these funds to meet a similar pressing need.
