Giving Hope: Aid for Israel's Suffering

Tuesday, November 28, 2023

To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Isaiah 61:3

Dear Friend,

On this Giving Tuesday, our hearts turn towards the resilience and courage of those facing the aftermath of war in Israel. It's a time when generosity can be a beacon of hope for families who have lost the comfort of their homes and the assurance of safety.

Vision for Israel has been steadfast in its mission, reaching out to hundreds of displaced families now residing in hotels across central Israel, providing not just the necessities of clothing and food but also the solace of toys and games for their children.

For those who remain in the southern cities, the echoes of conflict are still close. Our teams, often under the threat of rocket fire, persist in delivering food baskets to cities like Ashdod, Sderot, Netivot, and Ofakim. These acts of bravery and kindness are rays of light in these shadowed times.

But the need is ongoing, and the path to recovery is long. Barry has visited places scarred by the conflict, like Kibbutz Be'eri, and the images he brings back are harrowing. They are a testament to the severity of the conflict and the urgent need for continued support.

This Giving Tuesday, let your compassion flow towards those who need it most. Your donation can provide a displaced family with the warmth of a meal, the comfort of clothing, or the joy of a child's smile amidst uncertainty.

We're channeling our efforts into a special initiative: providing financial aid to families whose homes and belongings have been ravaged by conflict. Each family will receive $2,500 to replace furniture and appliances, helping to restore normalcy to their lives. Our immediate goal is to extend this lifeline to 50 families, with the hope of reaching more as funds allow.

As we move forward, let us carry the heart of giving not just today but every day, ensuring that those affected by the war find not just relief but also the strength to rebuild.

"May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Psalm 33:22

With heartfelt appreciation,

Barry & Batya

Vision for Israel is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity. All contributions designated for specific projects shall be applied to those projects, and we may assess up to 20% to be used for administering the gift. Occasionally, we receive more contributions for a given project than can be wisely applied to that project. When that happens, we use these funds to meet a similar pressing need.
