I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Genesis 12:3
The Blessing of Shelter
Dear Friends,
What exactly is a blessing? In life, we know blessings as the good that a person desires for himself. But by the biblical definition, blessings are much richer. More specifically, they are the promises God makes to encourage His believers.
Carefully wrapped within the essence of the word itself, is God's favor and protection; a gift bestowed by God which brings happiness. A spoken blessing does good to those who hear it, and an action of blessing brings life to those who receive it.
Few blessings are more important than shelter for those in need. And when it comes to the dangerous conflicts and rocket fire Israel has received in recent weeks—the need for shelter takes on a special meaning.
Mobile bomb shelters serve an important duty in keeping the people of Israel safe from the threat of rocket attacks. When the alarms sound, citizens have the ability to rush into one of the shelters stationed in various public places around the Land and find refuge from a potentially deadly situation.
Along the northern and southern borders of the country especially, supplies are depleted and need to be addressed as soon as possible. We are getting desperate requests for the two main public shelter components right now:
- The mechanical locking system and bomb blast door that automatically opens and closes from a central IDF center in case of an emergency.
- The mobile shelter itself, which can hold up to 15 people. They are cement units approved by homeland security and the defense ministry.
This project is very close to our hearts as our enemies are seeking the destruction and the killing of so many people here. The potential for renewed conflict is getting worse each day—in May, Israel faced a 12-day barrage of over 4,360 rockets shot towards our civilian population.
When the rockets were falling on us we found ourselves praying for God’s intervention. Our prayers—and our appeals to you, our faithful partners—have always born good fruit. You have responded positively, and we have now ordered enough shelters and locking systems for the first stage.
The goal is to reach many more cities and to do it we’ll need to raise an additional sum of $280,000. Please consider how can you partner with us; any amount will help.
Thank you for your consideration during this time of great need and in preparation for the next conflict.
For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy.
