From Abraham becoming the Father of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel, to God making a covenant with the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to God establishing the modern Jewish state in 1948, it is truly amazing to see how God has made Israel into a great nation.
God has also made it very clear that His blessing on the nation of Israel does not have to do with Israel’s righteousness, but instead because of God’s righteousness and sovereign choice.
“It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” — Deuteronomy 9:5
So, as we look back through biblical history and see the modern-day state of Israel today, a question on our minds may be “Why Israel?”
God loves all people, and yet He still has a special purpose for the descendants of Israel. God has kept his oath with the Jewish people for a thousand generations, and it is time for the world to see a prophetic convergence. A convergence is a time when two or more things come together to form a new whole. Therefore, the prophetic convergence we see is God bringing together biblical prophecies about Israel and the Jewish people to bring about something new.
God has blessed the Jewish people with many things that have been a blessing to the entire world. A few of these treasures include the 10 Commandments, the gift of Shabbat, and the Feasts of the Lord (Passover, Shavuot, Feast of Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot).
Today, we can see the favour of God that rests on the nation of Israel through the world of business. According to Wikipedia, Israel has over 6,000 startups and over 30 tech companies valued at 1 billion dollars. Many innovations have been created here in Israel like the USB Flash drive, Lazor keyboard, VOIP-Voice Over Internet Protocol, ReWalk Robotics for Paraplegics, Waze, Iron Dome Air Defense System, cherry tomatoes, Rummikub game, Soda Stream, Amazon Kindle, and more! Amazingly, all of this has been accomplished amid wars, rocket attacks, threats, and more, throughout the 76 years of the modern-day Jewish state of Israel.
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
Genesis 12:2-3
Every Arab nation that has made peace with Israel is being blessed and flourishing, like Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Morrocco, and Chad. However, those nations that have not made peace with Israel are starving and suffering from poverty like Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.
The nation of Israel and the Jewish people have done as much as possible to come to a place of peace between Jews and Arabs. We live daily life together, work together, vote together, travel on planes together, and more. However, because there are extreme Jihadists like Hamas and Hezbollah that want to wipe out all of Israel, it creates great tension between Jews and Arabs.
In conclusion, what can you do to bless Israel? Some practical things you could do are come to Israel, take a stand against replacement theology, write a letter to your politicians to strengthen the relationship with Israel, and consistently pray for Israel and the Jewish people.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.’ For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, ‘Peace be within you.’ For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.” — Psalm 122:6-9
