When we do our outreach, we are constantly interacting with recipients of our aid. This woman wished to remain anonymous but was willing to share some of her story with us. Adi* described her situation as desperate. She and her husband had found themselves in a difficult financial crisis after he’d lost his work as a bus driver, and she was left to care for the family through her work in a child care facility.
Their expenses remained the same: rent, utilities, food, and everything else it takes to raise a family and run a home—but their income became significantly restricted. Adi had become extremely anxious trying to figure out how to address the huge debt they accumulated. Even with the direct financial aid we offer at Vision for Israel, it wasn’t clear to her how to proceed.
Thankfully, we were able to offer them financial counselling services through our trusted non-profit partner, which combined with the aid itself to help make a much larger positive impact. Not only did they receive the money to give them a boost out of their situation, but the financial tools to use it wisely on their limited income.
At Vision for Israel, we aim to give all families in need the tools to fight their hardships, so they can have hope for a better future, and be better prepared for the road ahead. So we’re enrolling up to 120 households in a special programme that consists of 10 one-on-one, in-depth meetings with a qualified financial consultant. When they complete the course, the couple will receive a financial gift of $1000 to start them off strong.
